Endoscopic Lifting: Where It Works and What Results It Can Achieve

Today, I want to clarify something about the endoscopic technique, the Mivel technique, because I’ve received many questions on social media and my patients have asked me to go into more detail. So let’s talk about where the endoscopic lifting works. It’s not a simple or straightforward answer, as the endoscopic lifting must be customized and tailored to each patient. This is why I always emphasize the importance of a preoperative consultation.

Endoscopic lifting, or the Mivel technique, can be useful for a young woman looking to achieve the foxy eye look, opening up the eyes and creating an almond shape. In this case, the lifting works on the frontal and periocular areas. On the other hand, when it comes to repositioning the malar and zygomatic regions, for patients who are a bit older, the endoscopic lifting works on the frontal, periocular, temporal areas, and across the entire malar and zygomatic region.

Finally, in some patients, in addition to improving the eye area and lifting the malar and zygomatic regions, it’s possible to slightly enhance the jawline. In this case, the lifting treats the frontal, periocular, temporal, malar, and zygomatic areas and extends down to the jawline. However, endoscopic lifting cannot improve the neck area or deeply redefine the mandibular region. For these issues, we use a neck lift or mini mandibular lift, which we have discussed in previous posts.
