I have received many requests to delve deeper into the topic of the endoscopic technique of endoscopic lifting and the MIVEL technique, a technique I standardized. In 2011, I wrote a book on this technique and have made numerous publications on it, so today I want to go into more detail about the MIVEL technique.
Firstly, the MIVEL technique is an endoscopic technique that involves a procedure without long scars but with small incisions hidden among the hair, and through these small incisions, using the endoscopic technique, the tissues are repositioned. The endoscopic technique acts on the middle and upper thirds of the face, so from this line upwards and it can be used for two main reasons: one is for a vertical lift, which is an anti-aging lift to reposition the tissues vertically when, over time, there has obviously been a sagging and aging of the tissues, but it can also be used, as we have discussed in numerous posts, to enhance the gaze, to make the look more sensual.
In this case, it’s for what is called the “FOXY-EYE,” that is, the elongation of the eye and the lifting of the tail of the eyebrow. So, the MIVEL is a minimally invasive endoscopic technique, very versatile, and can be used as an anti-aging technique for the middle and upper thirds of the face, but also in younger people for improving the gaze, elongating the gaze, creating a more sensual look. It is a technique that can often be performed under sedation without the need for general anesthesia and as an outpatient procedure.
